Five Guys Famous Burgers and Fries

The name pretty much says it all - Five Guys is all about burgers and fries. They have seven locations in DC, with a new one coming soon to Dupont Circle, and several locations in the northern VA and Maryland suburbs. Five Guys has gotten raves for its food - read on to find out if you and your preschooler will agree.

 

The menu is simple. The regular burgers are two patties, but they also offer “little” burgers that bigger preschoolers may even finish. You can also get hot dogs and grilled cheese.

 

This is relatively fast food. It’s not quite as quick as those other burger places, but it’s still pretty fast. Plus, it’s made fresh when you order and is better than your fast food chains. That means less pre-meal wriggling for you.

 

Wall art. A portion of wall space at Five Guys is dedicated for drawings and notes from customers, and preschoolers are included. Your preschool artist will get a kick out of seeing his or her artwork on display.

Space. While the different Five Guys locations do vary, many are in relatively small places. Quarters can be cramped, which might make your preschooler (or those around you) antsy.

 

The tables also tend to be small, so if you usually travel with a bag of tricks to keep your preschooler amused while they wait for their food or for others to finish, you might want to leave it behind. Go for a few crayons and small piece of paper and have them make a masterpiece for the wall instead. The wait for your food will be short, and your preschooler probably won’t finish too far ahead of the adults.

Five Guys is a little raucous and fun, and your preschooler will probably agree. If burgers and fries are what you want, these are some of the best. Plus, prices are reasonable and you’ll pay about the same or less than you would for fast food with less flavor and character.
